Dear Haverim:
*This Friday night, February 8, at a special 8 p.m. time, we will celebrate the bat mitzvah of Lea Harlev. As part of the celebration, Lea’s grandfather, Cantor Joseph Levine will be our guest darshan. His topic: A Half Shekel’s Worth of Torah. This is a nod to Shabbat Shekalim, the first of the four special Shabbatot before Passover.
*This Saturday, February 9, 9:30 a.m., the Harlev bat mitzvah celebration continues in our Main Sanctuary, and Lea Harlev will be our guest darshanit. I am not allowed to tell you the topic because she wrote the sermon herself, and wants it to be a surprise to her parents … so you will just have to come and hear for yourself.
*Also this Saturday, February 9, 9:30 – 10:45 a.m., is PJ Shabbat, for the zero to five crowd, and their parents, in our Lower Level. Cakes and Miracles: a Purim Tale will be the featured story, in anticipation of the upcoming Purim holiday.
*Also this Saturday, February 8, 9:30 a.m. - ?, is our first Torah Plus Service in the Chapel. For those seeking a lay-led service with a complete Pesukei d’Zimra, repetition of both Amidahs, a full keriah of the Torah reading, and adult Torah study – this service is for you.
Come to Beth Shalom for Shabbat and choose the service which best meets your specific needs – because at CBS we’ve got it ALL!
Shabbat shalom,
Rabbi Michael
